Heat Storm - Outdoor Infrared Heaters

Massachusetts road construction promotes the use of infrared heaters

07.4.11

Near Easton, Massachusetts, traffic delays are increasing along routes 106 and 123 because of construction. This project includes the installation of drainage pipes, as well as electrical and traffic signal foundations, which will continue to slow down traffic in the coming months. In order to stay warm and comfortable during unseasonably cold weather, construction crews will need the targeted warmth of infrared heaters.

According to Easton Patch, the project is part of an effort to ease the congestion that plagues the area. Crews will be realigning Bay Road and widening Foundry Street, which is where the brunt of the work is being done. Although this particular project is expected to be completed by July, construction will begin on other nearby roads in August and continue through the fall months.

At a cost of less than 14 cents per hour, the energy efficiency of infrared heaters can prevent any possible weather delays during the fall without costing tremendous amounts of money. Propane heaters, on the other hand, cost about three dollars per hour to operate.
