In Colorado Springs, an upscale apartment complex is being constructed on the north side of town. The first units are scheduled to open in June 2012, which is when the entire complex is supposed to be finalized. In order to meet the deadline and avoid sudden weather delays, crews will need the targeted warmth of infrared heaters. According to The Gazette, this project will be known as The Peaks at Woodmen and will feature one, two and three bedroom units. The rent will be mid to upper scale, as this neighborhood is the fastest growing community in the Rocky Mountain town. Homes and shopping centers, as well as the intersection of two major highways, surround the construction site. “Colorado Springs has got pretty good demographics and obviously it’s a nice place to live,” president of the apartment contractor, John McWilliams, told the news source. “The main reason is the site, and the demand we saw.” At a cost of less than 14 cents per hour, the energy efficiency of infrared heaters can keep workers comfortable in the bitter conditions of the Rockies. Propane heaters, on the other hand, cost as much as three dollars per hour to operate. |
