In Tazewell County, Illinois, two failing bridges desperately need to be replaced, but poor cohesiveness between government bodies and planners has hindered the process. Once the red tape is cleared, there are plans to renovate three different locations. In order to avoid further delays and keep themselves comfortable in the event of unseasonably cold weather, construction crews will need the targeted warmth of infrared heaters. According to the Journal Star, the three projects combined require cooperative efforts between the county, the city of East Peoria, the township, a railroad company and the Interstate Commerce Commission. At a cost of $3 million dollars, the project includes three intersecting roads within a mile span between one another. “We all have our budgetary restraints,” Tazewell County Engineer John Anderson told the news source. “It’s just so difficult to come up with this kind of money. The engineering takes every bit of three years.” To save as much money as possible during the construction process, crews will need the energy efficiency of infrared heaters. Heat Storm devices cost less than 14 cents per hour to operate, whereas other sources like propane heaters typically cost more than three dollars per hour. |
