In Aspen, Colorado, summer construction projects are starting up, employing a massive number of Rocky Mountain residents. Once the snow pack of this busy winter melts, crews will begin getting their hands dirty. In order to keep employees comfortable in the unseasonably cold temperatures of the mountains, construction crews will need the targeted warmth of infrared heaters. According to The Aspen Times, construction has been a mainstay of the local economy for years, especially along Highway 82. Although the recession suspended several operations, many government-funded projects are beginning this year. These endeavors include an expansion to the Aspen Valley Hospital, a runway extension at the Aspen-Pitkin County Airport, an addition to the turf at the Iselin Field, parking lot renovations at the City Market, new rooms at the St. Regis Hotel, as well as renovations on the campus of the Aspen Music School. At a cost of less than 14 cents per hour, the energy efficiency of infrared heaters can prevent possible weather delays from plaguing upcoming construction projects. Propane heaters, on the other hand, cost at least three dollars per hour to operate. |
