In Summit County, Ohio, crowds gathered to mark the beginning of a construction project along the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail. Construction crews are expected to complete the half-mile section of the trail by November 30. In order to meet the deadline and avoid weather delays, crews will need the targeted warmth of infrared heaters. According to The Akron Beacon Journal, the $1.8 million project will include a tunnel under an active railroad track, the covering of two former landfills and the building of two bridges – one over the Tuscarawas River and another over the old canal. The leg of the pathway will connect sections of the popular trail that are already built and available to the public. When the entire project is completed, the trail as a whole will stretch through over 40 miles of Summit County. At a cost of less than 14 cents per hour, the energy efficiency of infrared heaters can keep workers comfortable in adverse weather conditions and unseasonably cold temperatures. Heat Storm devices are superior to alternative sources like propane heaters, which typically cost about three dollars per hour. |
