Garbage-fueled power plant promotes the use of infrared heaters

In the state of Wyoming, there are several sites that companies are planning to use for new garbage-fueled power plants. Construction crews are scheduled to begin work within the next few months in Guernsey and Cheyenne. In order to battle the often chilly elements of the Rocky Mountains, crews will need the targeted warmth of infrared heaters.

According to the Billings Gazette, a company known as American Renewable Energy Associates is also setting its sights on additional sites near Gillette and within the Wind River Indian Reservation. These facilities will burn waste and convert it to gas, using turbines to generate electricity for the public. Although this process is used in Europe, parts of Florida and California, it’s still relatively new for the interior United States.

At a cost of less than 14 cents per hour, the energy efficiency of infrared heaters can save construction supervisors a good chunk of change. Heat Storm devices are superior to other sources like propane heaters, which typically cost more than three dollars per hour.
