The Federal Transit Administration is financing nearly half of the construction of a high-speed rail line that will connect Minnesota’s two largest cities. This massive project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2014, and will eventually allow passengers to travel from St. Paul to Minneapolis in 40 minutes. Construction crews will need the targeted warmth of infrared heaters in order to fight the cold temperatures, especially when working underground. According to the White Digital Media Group, this will be the most expensive public works project in the history of Minnesota, costing a total of $957 million. The agreement to allow this construction was signed at the Minnesota Department of Revenue building, and 130 people were in attendance. This massive endeavor will create nearly 3,400 construction, management, engineering and operations jobs for the state over the next few years. Infrared heaters present the best opportunity to protect workers against cold conditions in the most energy efficient way possible. At a cost of less than 14 cents per hour, Heat Storm devices are superior to alternative sources like propane heaters. |
