Heat Storm - Outdoor Infrared Heaters

Dog tolerance on restaurant patios paves the way for infrared heaters

05.4.11

In New Mexico, Governor Susana Martinez is on the receiving end of a legislative bill that will allow pet owners to bring their dogs with them on restaurant patios. With outdoor lounges filling up, restaurant owners will now come face to face with keeping their customers comfortable during the chill of the evenings. Infrared heaters produce an energy efficient source of warmth, which is essential for an environmentally friendly state like New Mexico.

Once the bill is signed, businesses will be allowed to bring dogs with them as long as they’re on leashes. Supporters of this new law claim that it will attract more business from pet lovers in general. Although some individual cities already have an ordinance that permits dogs in outdoor dining areas, the statewide legislation will improve conditions for the restaurants that are isolated along scenic highways.

Infrared heaters are part of a rising trend, offering productive warmth to objects rather than air. Propane heaters are less precise, costing the typical user inconvenient sums of money and time. The national average for a gallon of propane is $2.40, which comes to a total of three dollars per hour. Heat Storm devices cost less than 14 cents per hour to run.
