Approximately 400 construction jobs are in the process of being conceived by competitive tax credits, as communities north of downtown Boston are on the receiving end of state and federal funding for affordable housing. Portable infrared heaters will assist in providing comfort to the workers who must battle the blustery elements – particularly in those buildings that don’t yet have electricity. According to the Boston Globe, many of the specific builders, such as Chelsea Neighborhood Developers, are even renovating older buildings to match the requirements of the community’s historical standard for the purpose of preservation. Instead of limiting the amount of heat being utilized in older buildings, since other types of heating devices (like propane) are so expensive, workers can enjoy the benefits of infrared units on a more constant basis and at a cheaper cost. A typical propane heater, with a standard 20 gallon tank, can run for 12 to 16 hours before the tank must be replaced. With infrared technology there is no need to go through so much of a hassle. |
