Motorists will be pleased next year, as road construction is picking up along Oregon’s Highway 213 until the end of 2012. Workers are widening the road south of Portland, where 213 merges with Interstate 205. Especially in the windy valleys of northern Oregon, crews will benefit tremendously from utilizing the directional warmth of outdoor infrared heaters. The construction was dubbed The Jughandle Project because of its new curbed alignment just before it crosses the Clackamas River. Not only will this project give local construction employment a boost with at least 100 new positions, but it will also supply jobs to manufacturing, industrial outlets, equipment supply and professional services. “This is a triple crown winner,” Oregon City Mayor Doug Neeley told The Oregonian. “We are boosting employment during construction, reducing congestion for out citizens at this heavily used location and building infrastructure that will serve economic and community development well into the future.” The people of Oregon are known for being extremely environmentally conscious and avoiding the products that harm it. Infrared heaters, such as the Heat Storm provide the most energy efficient means of warmth for workers in large open spaces, whereas heat is usually diverted by the wind with typical outdoor units. |
