Heat Storm - Outdoor Infrared Heaters

Infrared heaters will boost business for Long Island outdoor dining

04.18.11

Outdoor dining is quickly becoming a growing trend in the Long Island village of Farmingdale, where many restaurant owners are requesting designated areas to set up patios. There’s a wide variety of technicalities and red tape in regard to the local dining policies, and the best way for business managers to bypass these limitations is by keeping customers satisfied. The use of outdoor infrared heaters presents a great opportunity for steady business in outdoor settings.

According to Farmingdale Patch, a new law sets guidelines for these restaurant owners who desire patio seating. There must be five feet of sidewalk space for pedestrians to walk on when passing the establishment, music of any kind is prohibited in the outdoor space, and food can’t be served after 11 p.m. Not only this, but Village Trustees are considering an additional fee of between $50 and $100 for business owners on Main Street in order to provide funding for beautification.

These new laws make it possible for the outdoor seating of an individual restaurant to be suspended from a single customer complaint. It’s common sense that patrons will be happier if they’re comfortable. Infrared heaters are the cheapest and most energy efficient ways to keep customers placated, particularly for patios that are open through the early months of spring and late months of fall.
