Infrared heaters prompt steady year-round business for restaurants04.7.11 |

Restaurants can seem as lifeless as a hospital with no patients during the brutal months of winter. Those restaurants with outdoor patios go through so many changes come winter that business cannot possibly function on an even keel, especially since outdoor dining can often double the amount of faithful customers. Ryan Hartman, a manager of Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery, told OnMilwaukee.com, “I tell my people that opening the patio every year is like opening a new restaurant.” Although it’s tough for restaurants to maintain a consistent operation during cold spells – no matter what – outdoor infrared heaters present the perfect opportunity to remedy the situation. In Milwaukee, especially along the riverfront, outdoor dining is a flourishing business – to the extent that restaurant managers constantly fumble for innovative ways to increase the amount of customers during the winter. Some restaurants simply go into denial mode, pushing outdoor dining as late into the year as possible without worrying so much about the havoc of cold weather. Others offer cheap solutions to the problem, such as offering blankets to patio customers. Heat Storm infrared heaters, which offer a cheaper means of warmth at 14 cents per hour, are an effective solution to these unavoidable issues. |
